THROUGH WORKSHOPS AND DISCUSSION SESSIONS: AMAN CENTER CELEBRATES THE INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR THE ELIMINATION OF VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN

On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, which is celebrated by the world on the 25th of November each year, the Protection and Social Rehabilitation Centre (AMAN), that works under the umbrella of Qatar Foundation for Social Work, organizes a celebration, workshops and discussion sessions, on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, from 08:30 am to 12 pm, at Qatar National Convention Center (QNCC) - Conference Hall.

The event will be held with the participation of all concerned and specialized institutions and a group of prominent national figures in society, in addition to a number of experts in the field of social protection related to women's issues, as well as the participation of several interested parties from different segments of society through using the registration link https://woman.aman.org.qa, announced on social media platforms and Aman Center website.

This celebration aims to achieve the vision and mission of Aman Center, and its strategic objectives in providing protection and social rehabilitation, through awareness-raising and education on social issues related to women in order to reduce violence and family disintegration, in addition to clarifying the importance and status of women in society.

After the completion of the opening session, the participants will be divided into a number of workshops and discussion sessions, to hold discussions about some issues related to women, and clarify the role, work, and competencies of Aman Center in providing protection and social rehabilitation services to the target groups of women and children, who are victims of violence and family disintegration, in addition to presenting visions and recommendations that can be studied and implemented in the near future, which deal with the status of women, their role and responsibilities in society.

Women are equal partners to men, as they have outstanding contributions in various fields at the national and international levels, in addition to their keenness to achieve a balance between her family and her work.

In this context, Mrs. Hanan Al-Ali, Head of the Communication and Information Office at Aman Center expressed the center's keenness to celebrate the local and international days related to the center's work, as this celebration comes to highlight the center's role and competencies in providing protection and social rehabilitation for its target groups of women and children who are victims of violence and family disintegration, in addition to supporting women by providing social, psychological and legal counseling, and organizing rehabilitation programs, activities and awareness campaigns that contribute to empowering them to confront any violence they may be exposed to.

She also emphasized the contributions of women, their role, and their positive impact in the local and international community. Women have a fundamental role in all fields, especially in the social field, as they are the basic nucleus for the formation of a stable and cohesive family.

It is worth mentioning that the Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center (Aman) is concerned with the protection and rehabilitation of women and children who are victims of violence and family disintegration, and their reintegration into society.

After the assassination of female political activists in the Dominican Republic, the United Nations General Assembly designated November 25th as "the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women", with the aim of raising awareness about the extent of the problems women face around the world, such as domestic violence and other multiple forms of violence; The orange color on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women represents a bright future free of violence against women and girls.
