The Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center (Aman), a key affiliate of the Qatar Foundation for Social Work, has successfully concluded an extensive awareness campaign held in collaboration with Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) and the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC). The campaign featured dedicated high-engagement hubs established to showcase the center's vital role and the specialized services it offers to its target beneficiaries - specifically women, children, and victims of domestic violence or family breakdown. This initiative aligns with Aman’s strategic mission to fortify social protection and foster a culture of community awareness.

This collaboration was operationalized at Al Sadd Health Center, Muaither Health Center, and the Women’s Wellness and Research Center (WWRC). At these locations, dedicated 'Aman Awareness Pavilions' were established, serving as strategic touchpoints to familiarize the public with the full spectrum of services the center provides to its target demographics.

In this context, Mr. Fadl Al-Kaabi, Acting Executive Director of Aman Center, emphasized the necessity of cooperation with the health sector as it is the fundamental pillar in providing protection for our target groups of women and children who are victims of violence and family breakdown. Our goal is to raise community awareness of mental health problems related to our target groups; for when a woman or a child is subjected to any psychological violence, it negatively affects their behavior, thinking, health, and presence within their families. Therefore, it is essential to cooperate and join forces with the relevant authorities to clarify the importance of mental health for our target groups and work on providing all appropriate solutions for them. This aims to deliver our message by creating a safe and inclusive environment for children and women victims of violence and family breakdown, providing protection, rehabilitation, empowerment, and legal, psychological, and social support services according to standards of quality and transparency, while enhancing community partnerships and spreading awareness to achieve a sustainable impact.

The Executive Director also clarified the number of visitors to the Aman awareness pavilion at Al Sadd Health Center, Muaither Health Center, and the Women’s Wellness and Research Center. The number of visitors to the pavilion over two days in each center exceeded (1,700) visitors from various segments of society - both males and females of different nationalities - to learn about the center’s role and the services provided free of charge to women, children, and victims of violence and family breakdown. Our ultimate goal is to raise their awareness and provide them with social protection.

From her side, Dr. Zeina Boucharbak Al-Mansouri, CEO and Medical Director of the Women’s Wellness and Research Center (WWRC) at HMC, stated that this event represents a model for integration between centers providing healthcare services for women and their counterparts providing social support services. Through this cooperation, we seek to enhance the culture of awareness and prevention, and empower women to access information and services that support their physical and mental health.

Dr. Zeina Boucharbak added: "Cooperation with Aman Center confirms our shared commitment to building a healthier and safer society, and our keenness to enhance health and social awareness among women and society as a whole. We at WWRC emphasize that education and prevention are the fundamental pillars for building a healthier and safer society and elevating the quality of life."

For her part, Ms. Bakhita Al-Ghayathin, Director of the Community Awareness Department at Aman Center, expressed the importance of educating the general public and target groups of women, children, and victims of violence and family breakdown within health centers. Our presence opens vast horizons for cooperation with health centers in preparing awareness and educational programs for the target groups, in addition to contributing to the preparation of research and studies in the future.

Furthermore, Ms. Hanan Al-Ali, Director of the Communication and Media Office at Aman Center, emphasized the necessity of activating the principle of community and international partnership through cooperation with the health sector in the State of Qatar - represented by HMC and PHCC - to contribute to raising awareness and educating the community on the risks of psychological stress, which reflects on the psyche of our target groups when subjected to any violence. At Aman Center, we seek to provide a safe environment for our target groups by launching a series of awareness events in cooperation with health centers and broadcasting educational messages via our social media accounts, reflecting the importance of mental health for women, children, and victims of violence. Our ultimate aim is to provide protection and safety for our target groups.
