PRESENTED BY: MR. SALAH AL-YAFEE AMAN CENTRE ORGANIZES A CULTURAL SALON ABOUT “PARENTAL BULLYING AGAINST CHILDREN”
The Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center "Aman" - one of the centers of the Qatar Foundation for Social Work - organizes a two-hour virtual cultural dialogue salon titled: “Parental Bullying Against Children" on Monday, June 21, at 10:00 a.m. via live broadcast on Teams platform. The Salon targets parents and will be presented by Mr. Salah Al Yafee - Educational Trainer.
AMAN Center is keen to increase the knowledge of all segments of society about its issues, to raise awareness about the level of protection and community prevention. The center will publish the registration link on social media platforms and the website of the Aman Center before the event, to provide an opportunity for those who wish to register.
By organizing the cultural salon, AMAN center aims at discussing several dialogue sessions related to issues regarding its target groups of women and children, victims of violence and family disintegration, and those exposed to it, to achieve the Center's vision, mission and strategic objectives in spreading awareness and education to enhance protection and rehabilitation to reduce violence and family disintegration.
Activities of the cultural salon will continue throughout this year, as AMAN Centre is keen to develop the capabilities of the target groups and provide them with new skills that enable them to overcome any violence, to which they may be exposed, by raising their awareness about social protection mechanisms, and instilling some educational values that affect the behavior of the individual and society.
Mr. Salah Al Yafei will discuss several topics related to parental bullying against children, such as defining the concept of bullying, the forms of manifestations of family bullying, the causes leading to it, how bullying occurs within the family, and the most important methods used to solve the problem of bullying.
Amna Al-Mahmood: We are keen to produce cultural awareness programme ideas for our target groups.
In this context, Amna Al Mahmood - Head of the Preparation and Design Department at Aman Center expressed: "We are keen as a team in the Community Awareness Department to produce educational awareness program ideas for our target groups. The idea of organizing Aman Cultural Salon came to provide participants with new skills that affect their behavior, way of thinking, and contribute in providing some solutions that help them overcome any difficulties they may encounter…"and Al-Mahmood also stressed “the constant keenness of Aman Center to prepare awareness programs and activities for the target groups, in addition to designing awareness and preventive messages for how to deal with any violence they may be exposed to, and about the mechanism of communication and accessibility, by calling AMAN's hotline 919, which operates 24 hours a day, or via mobile applications such as: Shawrini application for women, and Sa'edni application for child protection; or by directly visiting AMAN's main headquarters; or through AMAN's external offices, located at the Community Police Department - Public Prosecution - Capital Security - Sidra Medicine Emergency - Al Wakra Hospital - Hamad General Hospital.
