AMAN Center and Doha International Family Institute jointly cooperate to Prepare a research study on Parents Accompanying their Children to and from School

Dr. Sharifa al Emadi, Executive Director of Doha International Family Institute highlights that the study is included in the efforts of adapting work policies to the best international practices that achieve the balance between work and family.

On Tuesday the 3rd of October 2023, in cooperation with Doha International Family Institute (DIFI) which is a member of the Qatar Foundation, the Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center “AMAN", which operates under the umbrella of the Qatar Foundation for Social Work affiliated with the Ministry of Social Development and Family, organizes an online seminar on a Research Study titled: “Parents Accompanying their Children to and from School, Challenges and Policy Implications".

The existing cooperation between AMAN Center and DIFI represents a positive step towards making recommendations on the topic of Parents Accompanying their Children to and from School from the perspective of Challenges and Policy Implications, particularly that the DIFI is a platform for knowledge and enrichment of research concerning approaches and plans aimed at the advancement of the Arab families at the national, regional and international levels.

In this context, Dr. Sharifa Al Emadi, the Executive Director of the DIFI stated that preparing this research study is aimed at exploring the fact of the parents accompanying their children to and from school, the types of this accompanying, the most significant challenges that hinder the accompanying and factors that help it, in addition to shedding the light on the parents' opinions on the “Drop off your Kids" Campaign launched by AMAN Center. The Research aims also to explore the time basically recommended by the Study to adapt work policies to the best international practices that achieve the balance between work and family to help parents play an active role in accompanying their children to and from school which is reflected on all their life affairs.

For his part, Sheikh Dr. Nasser bin Ahmed Al Thani, the Executive director of AMAN Center expressed his thanks to the DIFI for preparing this Research Study and benefiting from AMAN awareness campaign “Drop off Your Kids". The recommendations of the Study stressed the goals of our awareness campaign including the importance of time quality and how to invest it properly while accompanying children to and from school, in addition to activating the dialogue between parents and children since this dialogue enhances the confidence of the children and strengthens the sense of family cohesion.

Sheikh Dr. Nasser bin Ahmed Al Thani confirmed the importance of cooperation between the concerned authorities to prepare research and studies concerning issues of violence against women,  children and victims of family disintegration.

It is noteworthy that AMAN Center aims to spread awareness and education about enhancing the protection and rehabilitation of women and children in the State of Qatar. The Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center “AMAN" was established in 2013 with the aim of protecting and rehabilitating women and children victims of violence and family disintegration and reintegrating them into society. The Center operates under the umbrella of the Qatar Foundation for Social Work, which in turn is affiliated with the Ministry of Social Development and Family.

Doha International Family Institute is a global policy and advocacy institute working to advance knowledge on Arab families and promote evidence-based policies at national, regional and international levels. The Institute is a member of the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development. It is an integral part of the efforts of the Qatar Foundation to foster healthy and educated societies underpinned by strong cohesive families in the State of Qatar and the entire region. The Institute has a special constitutive status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council.
