During the week of events and activities organized in celebration of International Women's Day, Amal Center hosts a workshop titled "Empowering Women: Be Confident."

The Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center "AMAN", a Qatar Foundation center for Social Work, organized yesterday a workshop on empowering women under the title (Be Confident) at Sharq Hotel, with the participation of Dr. Salah Al-Manai, a consultant in the Protection Department at Aman Center, Mrs. Wadha Al-Athba, a human development coach, the journalist Mrs. Khawla Mortazavi, and Dr. Dalia Momen, a psychologist at the Center.

At the beginning of the event, Mrs. Wadha Al-Athba, a human development trainer, gave an interactive motivational lecture “on empowering women". Then, an open meeting was held between the CEO of Aman Center, Mr. Abdulaziz Al Ishaq, and the attendees, in which they were briefed on the accomplished recommendations made in the past and they had the opportunity to raise their questions.

After that, the attendees were divided into three groups, which dealt with the most prominent psychological and social challenges. Then, three workshops on women's empowerment from the psychological aspect were organized and moderated by Dr. Dalia Momen with the participation of Mrs. Reem Al-Sindi, Head of the Hot Lines Department at Aman Center. The second group dealt with the social aspect under the title (Mechanisms for the Protection of Women) moderated by Dr. Salah Al-Manai from the Protection Department with the participation of the psychologist Prof. Osama Al-Jili from Aman Center, where the mechanisms for protecting women from violence internationally were discussed, whether by issuing laws or imposing penalties on perpetrators, given that protecting women is an important step towards eliminating all forms of violence against them.

The third group dealt with the aspect of women's empowerment in the media and was presented by Mrs. Khawla Mortazawi, Head of Media Values at Qatar University, with the participation of Mrs. Hanan Al-Ali, Director of Communication and Media Office at Aman Center, and focused on the image of women in the Arab media and their social responsibility towards their issues and the image that these media presented about them in exchange for progress that they have recently achieved.

The workshop also discussed the challenges that women face in the Arab media, and raised questions and issues related to the adequate opportunities for creativity and excellence that the media give women and the simplified image that these media present to a small number of women. Furthermore, the workshop discussed the development of strategies through the media in order to enhance the image of women in line with their current situation.

In this regard, Dr. Salah Al-Manai said that Aman Center is keen to listen to and benefit from all active community experiences, so the workshops were in line with the Center's orientation and helped to bring the image closer between the Center and the various relevant authorities in the country.

Dr. Al-Manai added that the workshop on empowering women (Be Confident) is a motivational workshop that pushes women to move forward, because motivation is qn important factor for the success of personal and professional life and a necessary component of performance excellence.

Mrs. Hanan Al-Ali, Director of the Communication and Media Office at Aman Center, said that the women's empowerment workshop is a continuation of the Center's activities on the occasion of International Women's Day, which is held every year on the eighth of March, out of respect for and in appreciation of women and highlighting their achievements in all fields. Mrs. Al-Ali also emphasized that women are pioneering leaders and decision-makers. She pointed out that empowering women enhances their effective and positive integration into society, giving them greater chances of success at all levels and supporting their participation and involvement in practical and cultural life.

At the conclusion of the workshop, the participants concluded a set of ideas and projects that would empower women and enhance their status and position in society.
