Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center (Aman), affiliated to Qatar Foundation for Social Work received participation requests in the competition of the best video for a child entitled "My Diaries without Electronics", which the center had launched in conjunction with the celebration of the Gulf Children's Day in cooperation with Doha Film Institute, Shafallah Center for Persons with Disabilities, and media center for Youth at the Ministry of Culture and Sports,
The competition targets children and adolescents from 7-15 years old, and aims to develop the mental and creative skills of participants and encourage them to record and document their diaries and creativities and interact with them in an attractive way.
The aim of the competition and the Committee arbitrators
The competition aims to help and achieve a balance in the lives of the participants between the movement and mental activities and daily duties away from electronic games, and encourage the participants to develop their life skills in a creative and influential way, it also motivated those around the child and adolescents from parents and friends to interact with the child's creative diaries. A specialized committee headed by Mr. Abdul Aziz Al Ishaq, director of the community awareness department at the center, will arbitrate the competition according to an evaluation form and specific criteria developed by Aman Center in agreed with the award committee, the competition also aims to release the freedom of artistic and creative expression for the contestants, with the aim of collecting the largest number of videos expressing the topic, and giving the opportunity to the largest possible number of participants.
Maha Al Mannai: A Safe Childhood is an International slogan that we are keen to adopt
Mrs. Maha Al Mannai, Head of the Technical Production Department at Aman Center, said that "Safe childhood is a major goal that Aman Center is keen to adopt in line with the international agreements ratified by the State of Qatar and the most important one is the agreement of the Child Rights, she emphasized that the launch of this competition comes within the framework of a planned program of Aman competitions as the center launched before the images and graphics competition which attracted a large number of participants, these images and graphics were also used in the design of creative works of the Center's accounts in social media, as these works aimed to achieve awareness and protection in an attractive creative way.
She added, " Aman Center take care of providing multiple means to achieve protection, including the launch of the hotline 919, the opening of a number of branches in hospitals and the public prosecution, and the launch of the online "Help Me" application that aims to protect children by reporting abuse that they may be exposed to and the application "Inform Me" to report any abuse to the child, as well as the launch of child-friendly games such as the synar game, which is the first country game free of violence and provides a suitable alternative for children for violent electronic games. The center also provides many rehabilitation services that aim to protect from violence.

Dr. Ahmed Al-Fayyad, Executive Director of Media Center for Youth, pointed out that "My Diaries Competition without Electronics achieves knowledge and awareness in an attractive creative way through inspiring the energies, talents and capabilities of creative individuals in the participant`s choice of the topic, his arrangement of the snapshots and the visualization he deems, as one drawing can summarize a large topic in an attractive way, which confirms the true value of the artworks, adding that the committee has set specific agreed-upon criteria for arbitration to ensure fairness and transparency among all contestants for the honor of participation and winning.
Hemian Al-Misnad: Celebrating the Gulf Child Day embodies the State of Qatar's interest in children
Mrs. Hemian Al-Misnad - an artistic production specialist at the Aman Center, stated that "The media plays a fundamental role at the level of exposing violent practices caused by violent electronic games that have become surrounded by children and adolescence from every side, and creating general societal awareness of the seriousness of violence and the importance of prevention from another side, adding that Celebration of the Gulf Child Day embodies the interest of the State of Qatar in children and in its essence represents an invitation to all countries and institutions, particularly civil society organizations, to do their utmost to prevent violence in general, and violence against the child in particular.

In a statement to Mrs. Fatima Al-Rumeiji, CEO of Doha Film Institute, said that, “My diaries competition has a great importance as it polishes children's minds and motivates them to think outside the box by encouraging creative expression for professional and emotional development, which is a perfect balance between creativity and curriculum. It is worth noting that My Diaries and other creative initiatives are in line with Qatar's vision to build a knowledge-based economy, in which education plays an important role.
Shafallah Center:
Mrs. Wadha Al-Azbah, a specialist in implementation and follow-up at the community outreach department at the Shafallah Center for Persons with Disabilities, said that electronic technology has become an integral part of our lives, and it is necessary to put an end to its interference in the lives of our children, and we must focus on the physical culture of our children as it plays a vital role in developing their skills, abilities, thinking and provide social security to them. The media plays a major role in shedding light on the proper means and methods that develop the child's skills and provide him with protection from any exploitation, and the participation of our children in the competition comes with a view of expressing and creativity in their daily lives and integration in society and avoiding the social isolation caused by modern technology, and with the support of parents, positive activities and psychological comfort The child can practice his daily life in a safe manner free from stress and anxiety and cultivate confidence in their children.
The Competition details:
The competition targets participants in the age of: 7 - 15 years old with videos less than a minute, and photography should be done by a camera, mobile phone or iPad with the need for the consent of the guardian and the videos should be sent by uploading them through the registration form on the link designated by Aman center for the award, with the assurance that the work is the creativity of the participant himself. All artwork will be the right of Aman Center, who has the right to use or publish any video it sees appropriate with mentioning the name of the winning participant, and the participating works will be received until the date of 12 March. Participants will be notified of approval or rejection on 20 March, and there will be available opportunity until 30 March to interact with the work that has been accepted as the interaction is one of the criteria of winning the competition, and the winners will be announced in the second week of April, and the committee's decision is final and cannot be appealed, and will be Display samples of the participating works in the center's accounts on social media.
Valuable prizes for the winners
The award administration provide valuable prizes for the winners, where the winners from the first to the tenth get a certificate of appreciation and five thousand riyals, the winners from the eleventh to the twentieth get a certificate of appreciation and three thousand riyals, and the winners from the twenty-one to thirty get a certificate of appreciation and two thousand riyals, and the winners from the thirty-one to forty get a certificate of appreciation and a thousand riyals.
