In collaboration with Dadu, Children’s Museum of Qatar, the Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center (Aman), one of the centers affiliated with the Qatar Foundation for Social Work, has inaugurated the Light Exhibition. The exhibition will run until the 9th of October, during which Aman’s awareness workshops will be offered to students from public and private schools as well as kindergartens. The objective is to raise societal awareness on social protection issues, enhance child protection mechanisms, and equip children with innovative and new skills.

Both entities have cooperated to develop a plan to train Aman Center staff on utilizing the Light Exhibition to deliver awareness workshops through new and creative methods. Furthermore, the exhibition will serve as a preliminary diagnostic tool for social and psychological specialists when dealing with certain beneficiaries receiving services in the center’s Residential Care department, as part of a future strategic plan.

In this context, Mr. Fadel bin Mohammed Al-Kaabi, Acting Executive Director of the Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center (Aman), emphasized the importance of collaboration with Qatari museums, represented by Dadu, Children’s Museum of Qatar, noting that the museum’s vision and mission in educating children through play complement Aman’s vision and mission of achieving social protection and rehabilitation for targeted groups, including women, children, and victims of family breakdown and violence, through innovative methods and new programs that keep pace with technological developments. He further highlighted that Aman annually implements awareness programs and initiatives through the delivery of Aman awareness workshops to students in schools, universities, and kindergartens.

Mr. Al-Kaabi also underscored the efforts and cooperation of Dadu, Children’s Museum of Qatar in implementing the concept of the Light Exhibition Program, describing it as an educational environment for children and a unique opportunity. He explained that the exhibition will enable the Aman awareness workshops team to present topics related to social issues—such as bullying, neglect, and self-protection—in innovative ways, utilizing techniques of light and shadow. Additionally, he noted the benefits for Aman’s Vocational Rehabilitation Team, as collaboration with Dadu, Children’s Museum of Qatar will include training on how to utilize the exhibition effectively, thereby enabling its application in the rehabilitation of targeted children. The venue provides children with an environment that encourages learning, exploration, and innovation.

It is noteworthy that the Social Protection and Rehabilitation Center (Aman) is committed to raising awareness and promoting education on enhancing the protection and rehabilitation of women and children in the State of Qatar. Aman was established in 2013 with the objective of protecting and rehabilitating victims of violence and family breakdown among women and children, and reintegrating them into society. The center operates under the umbrella of the Qatar Foundation for Social Work.

The Light Exhibition is one of the awareness programs affiliated with Dadu Children’s Museum in Qatar, under the supervision of Qatar Museums. The program focuses on enriching the lives of children and their families through play and exploration. The Light Exhibition offers a series of interactive and educational experiences and activities, providing a unique opportunity for learning through play, designed for children aged 8–12 years.
