On Tuesday, March 5th, the Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center "Aman", a Qatar Foundation for Social Work entity affiliated with the Ministry of Social Development and Family, hosted an interactive forum titled "Academies Forum.”  The event, in collaboration with Qatar University, took place at the Student Affairs Building (Auditorium 11) on Qatar University's campus, coinciding with International Women's Day, observed annually on March 8th.

On this occasion, Sheikh Dr. Nasser bin Ahmed Al-Thani, Executive Director of Aman Center, conveyed the Center's celebration by collaborating with Qatar University to organize the Interactive Forum for Academies. This initiative reflects our pride in the contributions of women across all domains and underscores their influential role in society. Women complement men in advancing societal development and contribute significantly to shaping a better future.

This year, our emphasis was on organizing an interactive forum dedicated to celebrating women. This interactive forum will feature prominent women figures and academics specializing in social protection. Their participation aims to spotlight various aspects of women's issues, underscoring the State of Qatar's commitment and support for women's rights across social, political, and economic spheres.  Furthermore, the forum seeks to bolster women's self-confidence and showcase their invaluable efforts and contributions to society. This is in addition to outlining the role of the Aman Center and the services it offers to targeted groups, including women, children, and victims of family disintegration due to violence.

Sheikh Dr. Nasser bin Ahmed Al-Thani also underscored the significant positive outcomes of hosting this interactive forum, emphasizing its role in enhancing societal awareness of women's role. The forum aims to highlight their ability to foster cohesive and resilient families, thereby contributing to shaping the future of generations.

Moreover, Mrs. Bakhita Al-Ghayathin, Director of the Community Awareness Department at Aman Center, highlighted the key topics slated for discussion during the interactive forum dialogue sessions. The initial session will feature experts and advisors in social, psychological, and legal domains, delving into the integration of women within Qatar Vision 2023. They will emphasize women's pivotal role in societal protection, fostering family cohesion, and preserving the Arab-Islamic identity, aligned with the four main pillars of human, economic, social, and environmental development outlined in Qatar Vision 2023. In the subsequent session, participants will explore the academic and professional roles of women, focusing on bolstering their educational and professional status. Many women aspire to attain advanced educational levels to make significant contributions to society, serving as complementary partners to men and integral builders of society.

On the occasion of International Women's Day, Mrs. Hanan Al-Ali, Director of the Communications and Media Office at Aman Center, emphasized the importance of commemorating international days relevant to the Center's focus on the target groups; women, children, and victims of family violence. She highlighted the significance of activating community and local partnerships. Annually, Aman Center celebrates International Women's Day through organizing interactive forums, workshops, and awareness seminars. These initiatives aim to reach a wide segment of women in society and highlight the role and status of women , by emphasizing their  achievements and innovations that contribute to the development of society.
