The Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center (AMAN), one of the centers operating under the Qatar Foundation for Social Work, has launched the “Journey of Safety” game, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and Doha Bank Group, the strategic partner supporting the development of the game. The launch coincides with World Children’s Day, observed annually on 20 November.

AMAN Center’s celebrates the World Children’s Day by launching the “Journey of Safety” game. Mr. Omar Abdulaziz Al-Namaa, Assistant Undersecretary for Private Education Affairs at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, along with a number of AMAN’s partners from various sectors across the State attended the event. The launch was organized through a dedicated pavilion at the Qatar Foundation premises, which will remain open until Thursday, 20 November. Coordination is underway with public and private schools to visit the pavilion and learn more about the game.

Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Fadl bin Mohammed Al-Kaabi, Acting Executive Director of AMAN Center, affirmed the Center’s dedication to creating innovative, interactive, and engaging programs and activities for children. He explained that the concept of the “Journey of Safety” game was developed in partnership with Doha Bank, the project’s strategic supporter, and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, one of AMAN’s key partners, to ensure the widest possible reach among students. The game aims to educate children on social protection, shed light on issues related to child safety, and promote preventive measures, while familiarizing them with modern mechanisms that empower them to protect themselves from various forms of violence in different settings. It also helps equip children with valuable skills that contribute to shaping their personalities and behaviors.

The Executive Director of AMAN Center highlighted the vital role of technology in designing and developing initiatives that serve women and children. He noted that the State of Qatar continues to advance its support for technology and innovation, a priority reflected in the Third National Development Strategy, which underscores the need to expand the use of technology and strengthen a positive digital economy. This strategic direction directly supports the achievement of the AMAN Center’s mission to enhance social protection and combat all forms of violence.

The Executive Director also underscored the importance of concerted efforts among all entities that work with children, particularly within the education and health sectors, stressing the need for stronger collaboration to ensure children’s safety and reduce violence against them, as they represent the future and the cornerstone of the next generation.

Ms. Bakhita Al-Ghayathin, Director of Community Awareness at AMAN Center, highlighted the innovative concept of the “Journey of Safety” game. Designed as an interactive digital experience, the game is available for download via the Qatar Education Portal under the Ministry of Education and Higher Education. Tailored for both boys and girls, it targets children aged 4 to 8 years.

Ms. Bakhita Al-Ghayathin highlighted that the game guides children through a series of stages inspired by landmarks across the State of Qatar, delivering important social protection messages through engaging question-and-answer activities. This interactive approach provides a fun and effective alternative to traditional teaching methods, effectively conveying AMAN Center’s awareness messages to its target group of children. “Journey of Safety” game aims to raise awareness among children about social protection, strengthen child safety practices, and teach them how to protect themselves at home and in public spaces. In addition, the game equips children with valuable skills that help them develop positive traits and good character.

Ms. Hanan Al-Ali, Director of the Communication and Media Office at AMAN Center, emphasized the importance of activating community partnerships through collaboration with various sectors across the State. She noted that Doha Bank serves as a strategic partner in implementing the theme of “Journey of Safety” game. Doha Bank Group contributes by providing prizes to winners of the game, recognizing the best players who demonstrate healthy and positive ways of interacting with others.

Ms. Hanan Al-Ali also highlighted the key channels for accessing the “Journey of Safety” game. She explained that the Qatar Education Portal, under the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, serves as the primary access point for the game, making it available to all public and private schools. Additionally, AMAN Center’s awareness workshops team will introduce the game during school visits, providing educational sessions for students. The game will also be promoted directly through schools by encouraging teachers and school administrations to integrate it into extracurricular activities and activity classes, motivating students to engage with the game. Moreover, AMAN Center’s partners will support the initiative through a dedicated “AMAN Educational Pavilion,” where visitors can experience, interact with and benefit from the game. The Center will also promote the game on its social media platforms to reach a wider audience.

It is noteworthy that in order to spread awareness and educate about enhancing the protection and rehabilitation of women and children in the State of Qatar, the Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center (AMAN) was established in 2013, with the aim of protecting and rehabilitating women and children victims of violence and family disintegration and reintegrating them into society.
