A delegation from the Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center (AMAN), one of the centers affiliated with the Qatar Foundation for Social Work, visited the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development “HRSD” of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to strengthen Gulf cooperation and exchange expertise and best practices in social protection and rehabilitation. Led by Mr. Fadl Al Kaabi, Acting Executive Director of AMAN, the delegation sought to gain insight into Saudi Arabia’s experience and exchange knowledge and best practices in social protection. During its first meeting in Riyadh, the delegation met with Eng. Ahmed Al-Hadithi, the HRSD Assistant Undersecretary for Social Guidance, alongside representatives of the Social Protection Department, the Reporting Center, and other entities involved in the social protection system. The meeting covered operational procedures and available services, with discussions focusing on the mechanisms for receiving and handling reports, as well as those governing protection, intervention, rehabilitation, and follow-up.

Mr. Fadl Al Kaabi, Acting Executive Director of AMAN Center said: “This visit forms part of the Center’s efforts to strengthen cooperation and promote the exchange of expertise across the Gulf. At AMAN, we believe in the importance of Gulf integration and sharing successful practices in social protection, given their direct contribution to improving services and enhancing the effectiveness of protection systems. Our visit to the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia provided a valuable opportunity to learn from its experience and exchange knowledge and expertise, contributing to our shared goals of strengthening protection and prevention and promoting social stability across the Gulf region.”

Ms. Amna Al Mahmoud, Director of the Rehabilitation Department at AMAN, emphasized the importance of exchanging professional and technical experience to enhance rehabilitation services. She explained that the visit provided an opportunity to learn about practices and procedures applied in case management and to exchange experiences relating to intervention, rehabilitation, and follow-up. She also stressed the importance of drawing on this expertise to enhance beneficiaries’ experience across AMAN’s services, and support their sustained recovery, empowerment, and reintegration into family and community life.

Ms. Hanan Al Ali, Director of the Communications and Media Office at AMAN, said: “Strengthening the social protection system is closely linked to raising public awareness and ensuring that people are able to identify risks, seek support, report concerns, and access early intervention. Visits such as this provide an opportunity to exchange experience in communication and awareness-raising, and to develop more effective messages that resonate with different segments of society, thereby promoting a culture of prevention and shared social responsibility.”

The visit provided an opportunity to exchange expertise on procedures for receiving reports, protection and intervention measures, rehabilitation and follow-up processes, as well as approaches to community awareness and prevention. The delegations also reviewed relevant experiences and practices aimed at enhancing service delivery and strengthening the effectiveness of responses. The exchange of knowledge and expertise will contribute to further developing the Center’s response procedures and enhancing the efficiency and quality of services provided to its target groups.

The visit builds on AMAN’s efforts to strengthen cooperation with specialized entities and institutions across the Gulf and the wider region, and to draw on leading expertise and experience. It supports the Center’s strategic focus on prevention and empowerment and contributes to the development of an integrated system for the protection and rehabilitation of its target groups, including women, children, and victims of violence and family breakdown.
