The Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center "AMAN", one of the centers of the Qatar Foundation for Social Work, takes part in the Thirty-Fourth Edition of the Doha International Book Fair held at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center from 8-17 May.

AMAN Center is participating through its initiative “My Book Is My Friend”, which involves the provision of vending machines for selling children’s books and stories.

This initiative contributes to achieving the Center’s strategic goals by promoting awareness and education among the target groups of children, while reinforcing the principle of community partnership with various external entities.

In this context, Mr. Fadl bin Mohammed Al-Kaabi, Acting Executive Director of AMAN Center, affirmed the Center’s commitment to developing and designing innovative programs aimed at protecting women and children. He emphasized the use of modern technology to effectively engage target audiences, in order to achieve AMAN Center’s vision and mission to raise awareness and education for promoting protection and rehabilitation, to reduce domestic violence and family disintegration. He noted that this commitment is the reason for the “My Book Is My Friend” Initiative. The Initiative is providing vending machines that offer books and stories for children at nominal, subsidized (non-profit) prices. These machines operate similarly to common vending machines used for selling beverages and candies. They are specially designed to cater to children’s needs, taking into account factors such as appropriate height, user-friendly functionality, and clear instructions to select books and stories that are useful and appropriate for children.

Mr. Fadl Al-Kaabi also stressed the importance of the participation of AMAN Center in such cultural forums to achieve common goals between various sectors of the State and offer the best services for our society, in addition to activating the principle of social participation among various sectors of the State.

Notably, the Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center "AMAN" seeks to spread awareness and education on promoting the protection and rehabilitation of women and children in the State of Qatar. AMAN Center was established in 2013 to protect and rehabilitate women and children who are the victims of violence and family disintegration and reintegrate them into society.
