Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center "AMAN" which is one of the centers of the Qatar Foundation for Social Work which in turn affiliated with the Ministry of Social Development and Family takes part in the 32nd Edition of the Doha International Book Fair held at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center during 12-21 June under the slogan “With Reading We Rise". The Center participates through “My Book is My Friend" Initiative by providing several vending machines for selling children's books and stories.

This Initiative contributes to achieving the Center's strategic goals by providing awareness and education for target groups of children and activating the principle of social partnership between all the external entities.

In this context, Ms. Hanan Al-Ali, the Director of the Communication and Information Office at AMAN Center stressed the interest of the Center in the annual participation in Doha International Book Fair by distributing vending machines for selling children's books and stories with nominal subsidized prices. These machines work with the same mechanism of the spread vending machines for selling beverages and candies. These machines were designed according to specifications appropriate for children, bearing in mind the child's height and ease of use in addition to offering selected books and stories that are useful and appropriate for children. 

She also pointed out that these machines were distributed in the most important places of children's gatherings in the State, such as: malls that are close to the play zones, cinemas, public parks and children's clinics.

Furthermore, Ms. Hanan Al-Ali confirmed the significance of the participation of the AMAN Center in such cultural events to achieve joint goals among different sectors of the State and provide what is best for our society.

For her part, Ms. Bakhita Al-Ghaiatheen, Director of the Social Awareness Department at AMAN Center asserted the interest of the Social Awareness Department in preparing and designing new and creative programs for the protection of children and women in addition to using modern technological methods to attract the target groups of AMAN Center to achieve the vision and mission of the Center in spreading awareness and education to promote the protection and rehabilitation in order to eliminate violence and family disintegration.

Notably, the Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center "AMAN" seeks to spread awareness and education on promoting the protection and rehabilitation of women and children in the State of Qatar. AMAN Center was established in 2013 to protect and rehabilitate women and children who are the victims of violence and family disintegration and reintegrate them into society.​
